I ordered new shoes today. I hope to have them in two weeks. These are photos of the new Altra Instinct 1.5 and the new Altra Superior trail shoes. The Superior do not replace the Lone Peaks. They are just an alternative lighter trail shoe. I ordered the orange Instinct 1.5 and the Superior. Can’t … Continue reading
Here is a nice video from Carson Rickey shot at the Hard Rock 100 this year. This is some great motivation to start the week! Hanging out at Hardrock 100 – 2012 from Carson Rickey on Vimeo.
I seem to have rounded another corner and started a weight loss cycle. I tend to plateau for a few weeks then drop a few pounds, then plateau again. My morning weight is staying pretty consistent at 196 which is down from a few weeks ago of 202. I am hoping that the loss continues … Continue reading
After a week off for our annual Colorado vacation I jumped back on the horse this week. Mileage is a little low but I will build it back up this week and next. Running miles was only 29 with a few extra miles of bike commuting. I was pretty happy with two 10 mile runs … Continue reading

I hit the fishing department looking at their fishing lure boxes. Most of the fishing boxes were two thin. After a little looking and testing the boxes of … Continue reading
One of the four issues I need to address before I am ready for my first 50 miles ultra is some kind of upper body and core workout. I don’t want to gain a lot, if any, weight but I need to convert some upper body fat to muscles. It would help me accomplish this … Continue reading
Well, today I registered for the North Face 50 Mile Endurance race. 50 miles seems crazy to tell you the truth. I am about a 6 hour 50k racer so how hard can an extra 20 miles really be? 🙂 I am going to find out in September. I say bring it!
